Our Professional - Patrick Brady

My affiliation started with this golf club some 22 years ago and I soon fell in love with everything about the place.

I had the pleasure of working as an Assistant Professional with long time Club Professional, Jerry Hayes, who was my mentor as well as a very good friend.

I embarked on my PGA training and through hard work, practice and studying, I passed all my exams.

After 7 years with the Club, I made the decision to move into my passion which is golf coaching. I was lucky enough to work in Holland for 4 years, followed by 9 years in Spain doing the work I love. The experience I gained was invaluable.

On returning to England, I worked with Robert Rock and his Golf Academy, and over the next 3 years, gained yet more knowledge, benefitting from exposure to some of the top players in the country.

I also achieved great satisfaction being able to bring on the Junior Section.

On returning to Sutton Coldfield Golf Club, although faces had changed, it was like coming home. I brought with me all of the experiences and knowledge I had been fortunate enough to pick up over the previous years.

A major change took place earlier this year when the Professional Shop was re-located into the former Ladies Clubhouse. We refurbished the building significantly and added new brands to our stock including Ping, Mizuno, Cobra and Wilson.  We also included an increase in our stock of ladies sport clothing.

Most significantly, the Professional Shop now includes a state of the art golf simulator. This amazing piece of technology not only allows you to practice your swing on some of the most famous courses in golf, it also offers swing and club speed analysis of the highest order.

You are always guaranteed a warm welcome whether you want to discuss your latest trials and tribulations in the Monthly Medal, or you just want to read one of the many golf books in the shop's golf library.
